Al's Awesome Science: Busy Bodies! By Jane Clarke

There is a boy. His name's Al (that is obvious, I know). He is trying to make a time machine to send his mum back in time because mum is busy and sad since his dad died. He has a sister called Lottie who is very clever. She helps him try to build the time machine. And they want it to be a surprise for mum.

There are lots of different experiments in this book, mostly messy ones. One nice, tidy one. They sounded like fun!

I sort of liked this book. I liked how Al, his friends and Lottie were so kind to Al's mum to spend most of their time trying to make a time machine for her. I didn't like how it was very short and sometimes it was a bit boring. It's hard to explain but it didn't feel very bright.
