Two lovebirds named Bertie and Beatrice get married with the help of a parrot called Sir Francis Drake (but we can call him Frank). When "sea-monkeys" show up on their island and start killing dodos, their lives change forever. Another peril is when rats swim

ashore and start eating dodo eggs. Their numbers dial down quickly. Yikes!

With Frank's help, and their friends Fatima and Felix, they manage to survive and live long and happy lives.

The way the words were written made me feel like I wanted to read more and more and more. Then when I had to put the book down for bed, I felt very upset because I wanted to keep reading.

Although it had a few moments of terror (for example, when Bertie's auntie was hit by a coconut and it rubbed out her memory) it was really exciting and fun. It had some nice descriptions and drawings and I could picture everything in my head - like the beginning when Bertie asked for Beatrice's wing in marriage.

I'd say this book would be for anyone between 3 and 12!
