I liked this book a lot because it was funny. And not just because of Pamela's surname. Sorry Pamela!

The Spy Who Loved School Dinners by Pamela Butchart

There's a new girl at school and her name is Matilde. She is French. Izzy and her friends Jodie, Zach and Maisie (Maisie faints a lot and she is scared of most things - for example, sheep) all think Matilde is a spy boss.

At first, Matilde totally ignores Izzy and her friends but then one day..... she speaks!

I don't want to give away too much but it is very very funny and you could definitely not see what was coming!

I liked how this book was written - it felt like Izzy was my cousin and she was telling me everything in one go after it had all happened. The drawings are quite good too.
